DDC Libraries
New Yorkers of all ages, races, income levels and backgrounds rely on its library system. The maintenance of this system is handled by the Department of Design and Construction [DDC]. We have been working with the DDC since 2008 on projects to maintain and improve this vital community institution. The projects here represent a selection of recent renovation projects in Brooklyn and Queens. The buildings range in age from the 1950’s-80’s and range in quality from simple storefronts to standalone structures. Our work, done in partnership with engineers Goldman Copeland Associates, includes roof, facade, and interior improvements. Also shown here is similar work at the Staten Island Children’s Museum, where similar upgrades were done.
