Yeshiva University – Koch Auditorium

The Koch Auditorium is the main formal auditorium space for the main academic center at Stern College’s Ronald P. Stanton Hall: part of the Beren Campus, which is one of four YU campuses in the city. The former banking hall is being renovated to recognize the space’s central role in college life.  Most importantly, the new space will restore visual access to the curved double-height bay windows along the room’s north side; windows now partially obscured by dropped ceilings.  An acoustical wood ceiling with GFRG custom-molded light reflectors will reinstate the grandeur of the space in a modern idiom; the wood accent reappears as wall panels mirroring the ceiling and window rhythm.  Terrazzo tile mimics the old bank building’s marble floors.
