BSA Free Arts NYC Company Day

This April, Building Studio teamed up with Free Arts NYC to give a company class day to aspiring architects. Michael created a fun and inventive program involving spacial relationships and understanding movement flow through a given space, while Leyani and Sam helped with feedback and examples of options to use for the class. Seven high school students participated and created truly interesting spaces.

Free Arts NYC empowers underserved youth through art and mentoring programs to develop their creativity, confidence, and skills to succeed. Their programs allow for creative growth and variety throughout the arts, setting high school or middle school kids up to graduate with a full artist portfolio and include internships, creative labs, and corporate partners.

Overall it was a wonderful experience, and as we move away from the challenges of virtual education, we, at BSA look forward to working more with Free Arts NYC to help foster architectural knowledge, understanding, and skill in the younger generations.
