Building Studio associate to join AIA Civic Leadership Program

Building Studio Architects is pleased to announce that our Associate Dyana Berthaud has been accepted into the AIA New York’s Civic Leadership Program!  This program is designed to cultivate a class of emerging architectural professionals into engaged and effective leaders in the public realm through a six-month mentorship and training program.

Dyana plans to expand her ongoing interest in homelessness, disaster relief, and micro-housing through this mentorship. Dyana’s passion for these issues was kindled by Tent City Urbanism by Andrew Heben. After reading it, she independently visited five model villages addressing homelessness creatively across the United States, and prepared analyses of the programs to try to better understand their innovations.

Dyana’s work within our firm has been on a variety of projects, from private institutional work to multifamily housing most notably at StuyTown.

We congratulate her on this achievement and look forward to her continued work here with our clients while developing her interests in homeless housing and disaster relief in the Civic Leadership Program with the AIA New York.
