YIOZ Synagogue wins TWO Prestigious Awards!
Faith and Form Awards
We are incredibly honored to announce that the Young Israel Ohab Zedek synagogue in Bronx, NY, has been recognized with not one, but two distinguished awards. The recently renovated synagogue, located in Riverdale, received the 2024 Faith In Form Award from Sacred Places, the journal of Partners for Sacred Spaces, as well as the 2024 Design Award from the Queens Bronx Building Association.
A special thanks and our deepest gratitude go to Rabbi Shmuel Hain, Josh Neuman, Lee Botnick, and the entire client building committee. Their dedication, perseverance, and vision helped bring this transformative improvement to life for their community.
At Building Studio, we take pride in our expertise in synagogue renovation and design. Whether ground-up construction, interior design or security upgrades and community services, the partners at Building Studio are uniquely equipped to collaborate with faith-based communities in crafting sacred spaces that honor their purpose and spirit.
QBBA - Design Awards 2024
Young Israel Ohab Zedek is a local Bronx synagogue being recognized by the Queens Bronx Building Association for design excellence! Our design completely remakes their nondescript building, re-facing it in stucco and stone, with a new light monitor announcing the institutional presence to the approaching traffic. The design had to conform to a very tight budget, while giving the congregation an enlarged facility with more presence and a stronger visual identity.
We were honored to be presented with this award by Bronx Borough President, Vanessa L. Gibson. In attendance from our team along with partner, Michael Goldblum was our contractor Spiro Kremmidas from KPFF and MEP Engineer, Lana Naoum from LNPC.
